Geltsdale Singers does what it says on the tin. We gather in Geltsdale and we sing. Now into our fourth year, having started off in (and slowly grown out of) the much loved St Peters church, we get together on a Monday evening from 7.30pm - 9pm during school terms. All songs are taught by ear and, over time, lodge themselves in our brains and our bodies so that we usually spend a portion of the evening singing songs we know well in order to balance the challenge of learning new material.
Singing with others has an essential feelgood factor: it's all about harmony. We choose songs from all around the world that are simple (and sometimes not so simple) rounds that come together quickly and 'part songs' that take longer to learn. Our emphasis is on having fun and supporting each other to bring our unique voice forward to be part of the collective. Come along and give it a go... first session is always free so you can try before you buy.
